Dr. Sean McAnarney trained at the University of Missouri Kansas City’s School of Dentistry using the Army’s Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). Before his dental career, Dr. McAnarney proudly served his nation as a Cavalry Scout, Combat Medic, and culminated his Non-Commissioned Officer career as a Special Forces (Green Berets) Medical Sergeant. After dental school he again put on the uniform, this time as a Commissioned Officer, and spent several years serving the soldiers of Fort Hood, Texas. Among his many military awards are the Combat Medic Badge, Airborne Parachutist Badge, Special Forces Tab, and Bronze Star Medal.
Always desiring growth in his profession, Dr. McAnarney intentionally gleaned much knowledge and techniques from dental Specialists (Endodontists, Oral Surgeons, Orthodontists, Prosthodontists, etc) while on active duty. He now uses that experience and knowledge to bring as much Comprehensive Dentistry to his patients as possible. His main philosophy of care is that the better the Patient understands their oral health, the better decisions they can make for themselves. He places high priority on giving Patients an excellent experience and always makes the effort to explain things in a way that makes sense, answers any questions, and offers options for getting his Patients into their best oral health.
Dr. McAnarney is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the oldest major honorary organization for dentists, advocating for ethics, professionalism, and leadership. He is also an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
In his off time, Dr. McAnarney loves spending time with his Wife Natalie. They met while both were on active duty at Fort Bragg and have been married nearly 20 years. They have three young children (Alannah, 10; Teagan, 8; and Caleb, 5). If there is ever any time to himself, he very much enjoys a zeal for juggling, dabbling in the art of Bonsai, and learning more Dentistry for his Patients.
